Most people by now have heard of the revolutionary new weight loss system called Sensa. According to advertisements for this product, you are supposed to be able to eat all the foods you love and still lose weight. That statement alone makes people want to sign up. After all if you can really lose 30 pounds in 6 months without giving up that cheesecake or those chocolate brownies then this is definitely the diet system for everyone.

However, having been fooled by diet products in the past most consumers are not going to spend money for any diet system unless they have at least some evidence that the system works. So, let's see if Sensa lives up to it's claims.

How it Works

The idea behind Sensa is simple. You simply sprinkle the appropriate "seasoning" on all your food, everything you eat at every meal. Then sit back and enjoy. The Sensa that is sprinkled on your food then tricks your olfactory system into signaling your brain it is full and you lose your hunger and therefore eat less and lose weight because you are consuming less food.

Ingredients

The ingredients contained in Sensa are quite interesting. They are Maltodextrin which is a form of corn syrup, Tricalium phosphate, Silica which is a rock that is use in some foods, FD and C yellow 5, Carmine which is derived from the pigment of insects and soy and milk products.

Interestingly enough there is nothing in Sensa that is known to aid weight loss or inhibit your ability to smell although admittedly stopping to think that you are consuming a product that is made up at least in part of corn sugar, rocks and insect pigment may well suppress your appetite. To think you pay $59.00 per month for these ingredients.

Does it Work?

Although the Sensa claims to have positive results from a clinical trial, when the show 20/20 repeated the Sensa trial their results were far from positive. Reviews for this product also have not all been favorable. While some reviewers claim that Sensa really works, others find it did not result in any weight loss what so ever and some who did experience some initial weight loss gained their weight back quickly the moment they stopped using it. Those who gave the most positive Sensa reviews also added exercise to their diet which may have been the source of the weight loss they achieved rather than the Sensa itself.

Conclusion

Since Sensa contains no ingredients that are known to help with weight loss and considering that there are more negative than positive reviews for this product the best that can be said about it is that it may work for a small percentage of the population. However, for the majority of the population Sensa will be of little help in their desire to lose weight.

While one must give the manufacturers of Sensa points for an innovate weight loss system it is a system that has shown little promise of actually working. In short, Sensa quite simply does not make sense.
